... It is my ultimate favourite.
I've used Grey Flannel for many years. It suits, it works and I like it. Not overpowering and people comment on how good the aroma is...
This is my only aftershave I use ... It is strong at first but mellows out quickly for a long lasting effect.
What have they done to this classic scent? The contents of the small sample I received recently smell nothing like the remnants of the bottle I purchased in 1998. I would go so far as to say that the current version of this scent smells not unlike toilet cleaner. I guess if Mr. Beene's clothing line and accessories are now made in China, then his scents appear to have followed suit - shame. Lorenzo Villoresi's "Uomo" smells similar but is more polite. R.I.P. Grey Flannel. I am going to miss you!
Love this product and will reorder again when needed.
where to buy cologne not spray
My husband has been wearing GF for about 25 years. He won't wear anything else and I'm glad for that. He gets many compliments on it. It is classy but not overbearing like many of the new colognes. We are dissappointed that we can never find it in the stores anymore and have to order it online - but glad it is still available somewhere.
It's funny all the negative comments about Grey Flannel. Nothing wrong with this fragrance. While certainly not my favorite, I remember when a teenager and it first came out EVERYBODY wanted to get this and went on and on about how great it smelled. It still smells nice. While not for everyone, what is?
A woman wrote earlier that whenever she smells it, she wants to get it on. I guess I'm not the only one who feels that way. IMO, this is the best scent ever made for men! Women always want to know what my hubby is wearing! He has lots of scents, including many of the new ones, but he gets the most inquiries and complimets when he's wearing GF. I see lots of comparisons to Farenheit, and I guess it's a fair comparison since both scents are so unique, but from the perspective of a 36 y/o female who's been in love with this scent since age 15, there is very simply, nothing better. Nothing else even comes close.
I remember this being the first big frag for myself in college. I wore this and original RL Polo. They both seem stuffy and unusable now. This is not like Farenheit at all, which in essence changed my life. this reminds be of a heaviness that I would rather forget. Like some stale boardroom...
...Grey Flannel is similar to Fahrenheit. That means not, that they smell identical, but they share some same ingredients. Grey Flannel and Fahrenheit smell very unique. Nothing comes close.
If you can't find a Grey Flannel Deodorant: Dior's "Eau Sauvage" deo stick is perfect with Grey Flannel. Only the stick, since it has a rather neutral green scent.
YOU CAN APPLY IT TO THE SAME PULSE POINTS LIKE YOUR NECK, WRISTS, INNER ELBOWS,ETC. WITH SOME MUSK OIL SINCE MUSK IS LISTED AMONG THE NOTES THAT CREATE GREY FLANNEL. HOWEVER, IF THAT DOESN'T WORK, IT COULD BE THAT YOUR BODY CHEMISTRY DOESN'T MESH WITH THIS FINE SCENT... IT HAPPENS TO THE BEST OF US. HIT ME BACK WHEN YOU TRY AGAIN. WB.
I would like to thanks you but kindly also tell me that how to apply a perfume, because i have applied perfume at pulse points but it does not really works better, if perfume should be used with bodyshop scented oil and the perfume with which oil can u tell me?
GREY FLANNEL IS VERY VERSATILE BELIEVE IT OR NOT. IT CAN BE WORN FOR MOST OCCASIONS; DEPENDING UPON HOW YOU APPLY IT. I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU. WB.
Hey - this stuff lasts and it has a very very unique smell. For me, I wore this in college, so it hard to me to not like it. It reminds me of living in the dorms at Penn State. It is very unique and it smells like something from days gone by. I like it, but it not all that great, but I am sentimental about it - so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
Grey flannel is recommended for day time wear or night or both can any tell me
clean, fresh, distinct, and classic. guarnteed - period. It's like Luther Vandross's voice once you've heard him there is no peer. This scent's clout is proof by it's longevity. I have used it since 1983.
luv it, luv it, luv it, luv it!! i could bathe in it, but i'm female so i just hug as close to my honey as possible
My dream is to find a man wearing this fragrance. It is very seductive to me. Can't say enough good things about it. I am so tired of men smelling like citrus fruits and leather.
Oh my GOD every time my husband wears this stuff I want to get it on!!! This has to be the sexest stuff out there barr none!!! I LOVE this great smelling sexy cologne!!!
I love Grey Flannel. I could almost wear it myself.. It was one of the first scents I ever bought for my husband. When my son started caring about cologne as a teenager, I bought this for him also. A scent I never tire of. I say that as a woman with a passion for perfume. Smells wonderful--not too heavy. (No woman wants to be knocked over by a man's perfume.) Try this one guys. She will love it!
I used to gave some grey flannel back when I was younger. Forgot how good it smells. When a rampart trying to find it in one of my local stores, and I finally did. This is definitely one of my all time favorites. I splurged on the big bottle just so I wouldn't have to worry about running out for a long time.
i got it after reviewing most of the comments here. in my opinion, swing some other way. this might be ok for somebody over 50.. very old style scent
is ho. never tried the cologne but this has gotta be one of the best greens out their period. 4get all the others and try this.
Out of many fragrances that I have tried, this one really stands out. The fact that it lasts longer than most is a big plus. It came out very strong as first, then turned out nicely on the drydown. Very elegant, yet still sexy and attractive. Every gentleman should try this scent, in my opinion. :)
This cologne is strong, olfactory green, and refreshing. Perfect for office wear.
ive used this scent since elementary school ive known it to be very effective over the years
Gentlemen. This will start the ladies' engines. Fresh, green, and elegant, and a little goes a long way.
I first bought GF in the States in the 70's - Hard to find in UK but worth searching. My wife loves the smell - bit like Worth. GF has been a friend of mine for years.
even if you scored back during your prom night in the 70's this truly is a mediocre cologne. (gasp! Heresy!) For one thing it's overalcoholed and overpungent; strong lasting but rather cheapo-- though, grading on a curve not nearly as bad as Carlo Corinto and the like. And though one could argue that it's different than the mild Santa Fe, the powerhouse Versace L'homme, and the funloving Ferrari Black, all of which are 'greens' and which I'd place way ahead of GF, once again, a diehard fan could object that they're not THAT close, in olfactory grouping. So, I have a suggestion to end all argument. Gentlemen, please do yourselves a favor and get a hold of Green Irish Tweed by Creed and Duc de Vervins by Houbigant. Put them side by side with GF. It'll be like comparing two fine bottles of wine to Ripple. There really are far, far, greener pastures out there.
Next to CK1, this is the best fregrance ive ever smelled. I can live on this smell alone I think.
This is the worst cologne i have ever smelled, in fact its the worst thing i have ever smelled. If your looking for a lady grey flannel, 15% of the time it works everytime.
The fragrance is very much like Polo or Aramis. It has a mossy/clove smell. It's just not something that people stop and ask what you are wearing. It's clean, but very strong. So it will last a good while. One drop and you are set for the day. This is a very business cologne. Something you would wear to church, weddings, funerals. Another words I would not go clubbin wearing Grey Flannel. Unless it was a square dance. Or a bowling convention. To sum this up. My dad wears this stuff.
Great Fresh smelling cologne. One of the all-time faves.
i discovered this scent as an 11 year-old in 1984. for years all i had of it was a 0.5 oz mini splash of it. i loved it then, and i love it now. it's classy, unique and very refined. plus, it is EXTREMELY easy to find. this starts out strong, but after an hour or so, it stays close to the skin, yet it does last. the major drawback? lack of development on the skin, as this is a rather simplistic fragrance: mostly moss and citrus with just a touch of violet. detractors of the current fougere craze are urged to check out this one. verdict: one of the best values on the fragrance market today.
MY UPS MAN WOULD COME IN AND I WOULD GO CRAZY. IT WAS SO FRESH AND CLEAN SMELLING . I JUST HAD TO ASK HIM WHAT HE WAS WEARING.... -- HE TOLD ME GREY FLANNEL .. AT ONE TIME IT WAS DISCONTINUED BUT I THINK BY POPULAR DEMAND THEY BROUGHT IT BACK.
Its different than others, starts of pretty bad, but dries down to a nice smell, long lasting as well.
After one hour it is most delicious. I don't understand those people who spray a cologne and immediately think they have to judge. Everyone knows that you have to wait and smell later.
A really good cologne that leaves you feeling great. Fresh and little powdery. Women do like this one but it's strong stuff...so might want to leave it at just a couple of sprays. Good for dating and for office wear. Can't go wrong with it.
It is bad if you wear it the wrong way/like if you put on too much...I sugest you test it before you buy it. But I like It for the more classy ocassions.
It's my vera best for years!!!
Now, don’t get me wrong; Grey Flannel smells great – at first. Cool, crisp and elegant; somehow it’s ivy-league academic and wall street business-like at the same time. Nice. A more mature version of Fahrenheit (Christian Dior 1988), perhaps. But its drydown really leaves a lot to be desired; it quickly burns down to nothing more than its base note of sandalwood, and not a very high-quality smelling sandalwood at that. For fifteen, maybe thirty minutes after spraying on Grey Flannel you smell like a million bucks. An hour later you smell like a sandalwood incense stick that you got in a pack at the grocery store for 99 cents. Phew.
My first love put just a dab on the back of his neck, and that's stayed with me ever since. I'm a tomboy, so I don't care for flowery women's perfumes, but Grey Flannel smells pleasantly unisex on my skin, so it's perfect for me.
Its in a class of its own. Refined elegance and subtlety.
Its in a class of its own. Refined elegance and subtlety.
This is the best. I've been using it for over 15 years. It has a very nice, clean scent and is not overwhelming like many other men's colognes. A few drops is all you need. Bottles last a long time.
As its name suggests, evokes Ivy League, old books, lavender, tweed jackets. A little goes a long way. Timeless!
i'm picky. my hubby tried this stuff for kicks and giggles...and it makes me swoon, baby!!!! this stuff will make any gal horny!
this is a nice clean crisp scent, rather light and it doesnt last long at all
All I've gotten is good feedback (and lots of it!) when wearing this one. Hard to find in San Antonio, though...
Brian thinks this smells like Tommy, etc., but this was out long before the other fragrances he mentioned. Also, this is a strong fragrance, too strong for some actually.
It's a wonderful fragance..of course, there is a fragance for each person, but Grey Flannel is classic, elegant, fancy....good taste.....
I'm so sick of these overated light lavender scents you can hardly smell. What is the point of this flat smelling cheep cologne? Nothing I care for. Smells like DKNY, Tommy or Lanvin. Same ol same ol.
My favorite scent on a man. Women always notice a man wearing Grey Flannel. A truly classy fragrance.
Worn it for 18 years, tried other brands but always came back. Bit of advice guys...don't marinate yourself in it. A dab or two will do for the day. Great stuff!
Should be applied very lightly or you will offend those around you. Try this test...spray your favorite scent on one arm and Grey Flannel on the other before bed. The next morning smell both. The outcome is why I've worn Grey Flannel for twenty years. A long lasting classic.
If you just use a dab women love it. dont drown yourself in it like most men do. I get great comments on it all the time.
The smell is a mix of a just mown field of gras and a hay-loft during a warm summerday.... can it be better..
Hi guys here in Italy there's a lot of girls using GF, and we love it a lot. It is much better then some strong sweet parfums like "Poison", or similars.
Women love the smell of this. Its elegant and professional and best worn when in a suit or tux. I've never had any complaints on this.
Woody, distinctive - such a change from all those commonplace popular perfumes - the best
There is a trick to wearing it so it doesn't have such a strong odor. i use the after shave bottle not the spray on and i only use my index finger to apply four strokes of it on my face. NO more than that or it is way too strong and won't smell good at all
Definately female repellent! Very strong, fowl scent. For a sexy scent to attract the ladies you guys should try either Ungaro III or Fahrenheit.
This is sort of a nice old-fashioned type scent, not terribly sexy, just kind of warm and comforting. It would make a nice gift for someone's grandfather.
The original GF in the dark green bottle with flannel pouch is a real keeper! Never wear it that someone doesn't want to know what I'm wearing, it smells soooo good! The new GF in light green bottle with what looks like denim is just horrible!!! My wife made me dump the thing in the garbage! Don't mess with a classic...let's get back to the original scent!!!
Hey there. From another feminine POV: I don't know how it changes on skin, but alone in the bottle I'd have to say that it is pretty bad.
Smells like burned grey flannel
I believe it is a mens scent for a women. A gentleman in our office wears it and the women all love it. Some of us went out to buy it for our husbands. And I still love it.
leave Geoffrey Beene alone. Grey Flannel is a very good scent. you have to let it evolve on your skin. it was designed to be almost a comfort scent of sorts. maybe it's just your skin chemistry that it's not working with
Gray Flannel is a love/hate thing; ya either do or you don't. Personally, I find the after shave the best and the deodorant stick ok, as well. The cologne, however, is too strong; my wife hates it too.
SMELLS LIKE PEPPER SPRAY!!!!! TOOOO STRONG !!!!!! VERY NASTY!!!!
I have used G F , for about 15 years! However. G F changed. From Paris & New York ...came Miami! May I say, unmatched ! Buzzard bile = corporate america!!! Grey Flannel is unmatched next to other cheeze sweet chickie products, that HEY..REEK... I do miss Geoffrey bean. Best of luck. A Friend
Try Lysol, it smells better!
I like it a lot.
