i want to buy this perfume for my friend as she has been trying to get it for ages as she loved it when it first came out can anyone tell me if they bought it and if it really does smell like the original fragrance as i wld'nt like to dissapoint her

So very, very disappointed. Definitely nothing as good as the original. What a total let-down.

Very happy to have found this item on line as not available in England. Have bought this perfume for a dear friend for Christmas present. It is her favourite fragrance.

I was so looking forward to receiving my order of Climat. It was my absolute favourite perfume. Until I discovered Galaxy, Climat was for very many years unobtainable anywhere. However I was to be bitterly disappointed. The fragrance was not as I remembered it to be. (One NEVER forgets a fragrance from one's past!) In fact I could hardly detect any fragrance at all! I can also assure you that there is nothing whatsoever wrong with my sense of smell!

I just received this lovely perfume today. I just love it. Everyone knows when I have been in the room. They say the perfume smell so nice. I hope they never take it off the market.

I had ordered Climate perfume from other vendors but found out that its fragrance did not last as long nor was it the same as the one I had experienced back in the ´80s. The Climate perfume I purchased from Perfume Emporium is exactly what I was looking for and I am very very PLEASED. Thank you !!!!

To all those people who love this perfume I would like to tell you that I bought this perfume via Amazon (the new packaged version 75ml EDT) I was disappointed as soon as I wore this perfume, the smell disappeared within 10 minutes and it was no where near the smell of my favorite Climat I used back in where I come from (Europe in the mid 80s). In my opinion the original bottle EDP is the one I used many years in Europe is the best. If you want to buy this perfume try EDP version which should come in a very attractive bottle and it lasts for ages. This is also in my opinion one of the best perfumes in the world. I also think that if you love this perfume, you will also love perfume such as; J'ai Ose by Laroche, Alchimie by Rochas, Mystere de Rochas EDP for women by Rochas, Magie Noire by lancome, Pleasures (the original version) by Estee Lauder, Nu EDP by Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel #19 EDP for women and many more.

I have been haunted by the fragrance since I first became aware of it in the late 1970's. For a long while it was unavailable, but several years ago I was able to purchase a reproduction of the Eau de Parfum from Saks Fifth Avenue. I still have the original CLIMAT uniquely shaped bottle that came in a bamboo basket. (base=1 7/8th oval, height 1 inch =/- with another oval across the basic one to form the bottle cavity, with a plunger top glass "cork". I have very sentimental, sexy feelings when I wear CLIMAT.

I first smelled this back in the 90's when I spritzed some on my wrist at a Holt Renfrew. I couldn't stop smelling my wrist for hours afterward. In order to buy a bottle of Climat one has to be on a waiting list at this HR. Sadly I could never afford the stuff, still the memory of how gorgeous it was stayed with me for many years. Recently out of the blue,I was gifted with a little bottle and I about died from surprise. Absolute perfect rendering of perfume if there ever was one. The genius behind it's creation is a true master. I'm a lucky girl.

i HAVE NOT TRIED CLIMAT YET BUT HAVE ORDERED THE SAMPLE IT SOUNDS WONDERFUL. i AM VERY PICKY ABOUT THE PERFUMES i WEAR. I WORE MAGIE NOIR FOR YEARS AND ALWAYS GOT TONS OF COMPLIMENTS , HOWEVER MY FRIENDS THEN BOUGHT IT AND NOT ONE OF THEM SMELLED NEARLY AS GOOD AS i DID. i FELT LIKE IT WAS MY SIGNATURE FRAGRANCE. BUT THEN WHEN I GOT PREGNANT WITH MY FIRST CHILD I COULDN'T WEAR IT ANYMORE . MY BODY CHEMISRTY AND IT DID NOT MIX. SO I CAN SEE WHAT LOLA IS SAYING. I HAVE BEEN ON THE LOOKOUT FOR A NEW SINATURE FRAGRANCE FOR YEARS (I AM ALSO A FLORIST AND VERY SCENT SENSITIVE) SO I AM HOPING CLIMAT WILL BE THE ONE.

I can't imagine anybody saying that climat is an awful fragrance. Obviously that are more good reviews about climat than bad. People who write nasty stuff about climat should go to the doctor to check if their sense of smell is normal.

Amazingly their words have the same taste and style...Weird. Clearly Climat is favorite perfume for so many people!!! Lola and Maya won't hurt.. They need to relax...

The first time I smelled Climat was on an island vacation. I had never seen it in the stores in the USA. I have loved it ever since as one of the fragrances I where in summer. Last year I ordered 3 bottles to try and stock up before it disappears for good. I'm not sure why Lola would write such a harsh critique of two very nice fragrances (Climat & Magie Noir) ... perhaps a bad day? But bringing Climat back would be more interesting than a lot of the celebrity frgrances that now seem to flood the stores.

This perfume is for sophisticated women with fine taste. It is not for those who try to keep up with the latest fragrance trends.

I have personally smelled only a few lancome frangrances (not climat) but as far as I know, Miracle, Poeme and Tresor are still well-liked and popular.

excuse me, but i have worked for lancome, and just to let you know that this company started out as a fragrance company. The gentleman who started this company won 5 awards on his first try at a fragrance showing. So, let's give this wonderful elegant company some respect please.

I've worked for Lancome as a beauty advisor, and quite frankly women, Lancome started out as a fragrance co. The man who founded this co won 5 awards for his fragrances the first time he entered a contest, and 2 of them were magie noire and climat. Just so you know. Lancome is not only about cosmetics, but foremost fragrance. ps. by the way, miracle is number 9 on the 10 best seller's list in the USA!!

for those trying to get an impression before buying, please don't take lola's comment too seriously. I have never smelled Climat, but am quite intrigued by the other comments and intend to try it soon. However, I have smelled Magie Noire. I began wearing it myself, because I was transported to perfume nirvana after smelling it on one of my friends. I have also received mildly jealous compliments about it when wearing it myself. Magie smells mysterious and wonderful, with a slight floral note. I would put in the same perfume family with Paloma, or Opium -- intense yes, but heavenly.

I was wearing this fragrance for years before coming to US 26 yrs. ago. It was very popular then in East and West Europe and Russia. It is very romantic and seductive, and when I had it here, I received more complements than I did when I was wearing Panther de Cartier. I missed it very much, but luckily I found it again. As for somebody's remark that this fragrance is "nasty", I can say that any fragrance can make you sick if it is overindulged.

Climat and Magie Noire were made for people with class, style, and good taste. you are obviously not one of them...

You will never give this perfume up, if you ever try it. It is one of those scents that makes you feel so very wonderful about yourself. And, by the way, I moved to US 12 years ago, and yet have to find an American guy who hasn't absolutely love it!

I first bought Climat when i was 16. I had read in Cosmopolitan`s horoscope that it was Gemini`s perfume!!I `m now 38 and i don`t read Cosmopolitan and horoscopes any more ,but Climat is still a perfume that i always have in my perfume wardrobe.!!!

This is amazing parfume. Some people say its stinks, but fot those who think that: THIS IS NOT A SHOWER SOAP, like many in USA use perfume instead of wash themselves. Parfume make sence only if someone really close to you and only then you should feel the smell, one little drop touch and your man will be amazed. Climat it full of desire! Some people really need education how to use perfumes. Well, "Climat" is one of the BEST!

This perfume reminds me of Chanel #5. It is not for everybody, only for a woman with personality. I tried EDT and a pure perfume and *love* the perfume. It is intense, but not overwhelming. It has very gentle powedery floral scent, but not sweet..more clean *just out of shower* smell. It is so intriguing and unique. Someone told me once: "It doesn't smell like perfume, it smells like a women"..

I pray that this perfume will always be. I have searched the world for it when it was impossible to buy in the U.S. I fear the day when I will ot be able to find it. I am recognizd by all who know me by the scent. I am constantly stopped by strangers who want to know what I am wearing.

I have to share an office with a guy whose wife drowns herself in this. Whenever she shows up, the whole building reeks. Nasty.

Anyone who knows wonderfully seductive florals is fascinated by this exquisite fragrance. Lancome has been producing this perfum continually in Paris since its inception--Lancome delayed its USA debut for 30 years due to Americans' continually poor taste in all areas of fine arts. It's easy to understand why Parisians hate us. Frankly, I am amazed at some of the inanely negative remarks which, unfortunately & needlessly, reflect on the entire caliber of those shopping this site. If you are going to use this format, be constructive & helpful, not hateful.

The perfume is fabulous and is far more exceptional than the spray cologne - go for the best!

I wore Climat when I was young, back in Ukraine, many years ago. It was difficult to find, it was expensive, so it never failed to impress. Now I live in the US, my daughter is grown, and I found out that my husband cheated on me with everything that moves, whether it is female, male or animal... I tried to fix things, I even started to wear this perfume, again: It doesn't work. It smells dated and out of style and certainly doesn't bring home a husband who'd rather be with someone else! A waste of money.

I was at the movies,this weekend, and as luck would have it,I got stuck,sitting next to a woman who wore Climat.The stench was,saddly, unmistakable.It's not that she put on too much,really,she had not.It's just that this...liquid smells bad enough to wake the dead! Lancome has great mascaras,that's true,but fragrance is not their area of expertize,to say the least...Although their scents aren't all deadly,they are all mediocre,at best.The worst ones are ,unquestionably,Climat and Magie Noire.Everytime I smell those, which is not too often as most people,thankfully,tend to choose better quality scents,I keep asking myself if those 2 were designed as a joke,or a dare...I mean,why else would anyone want to smell like that,if not to play a nasty joke on the rest of the world?...

I'm so happy I found this parfume here in US. I came here 13 years ago from Russia and couldn't find this parfume in stores. Just couple years ago one of my co-workers told me about this website and some others who sells Climat. Now I'm happy again...

I really loved this when I wore it in Italy in the early 70's. When I came back to the states I rationed the bit of perfume I had left and never managed to get any more. What it the world happened to it so that some people hate it so much?

Climat used to be the most popular and desirable parfume when I was a teenager. I loved it, but never purchased it for myself, because it was more appropriate for a woman, not a girl. I bought it recently without testing and was very disappointed. The fragrance is the same, but it smells old-fashioned and unsophisticated.

I was standing behind a woman,at the dry cleaner,who stunk enough to wake the dead.Summoning all my courage,I smiled bravely and asked her what she was wearing. "Climat, by Lancome ",she replied.She also said that it's extremely hard to find, and she has it shipped from France. As a Frechwoman myself,(came to the U.S at age 20),I can tell you exactly why Climat is increasingly hard to find:Because it reeks and the market for it is practically nonexistant in my country of origin. It is usually more available in places like discount supermarkets,and Lancome rarely carries it in its own stores.Frenchwomen,who,admittedly can be quite picky,if not downright snobish about their perfume,like to joke that Climat is the kind of ugly scent one would wear to drive away an annoying lover,or something a cleaning lady might use in order to cover up the harsh smell of disinfectant...When I was little,my sister Lola got REALLY pissed at our gymnastics coach,managed to sneak into the gym's office and poured a WHOLE BOTTLE of it in the coach's file cabinet! The stench stayed forever,and after the file cabinet was replaced,there was still the unmistakable ,pungent aura flotting in the air...This godawful stuff isn't fragrance,it's an odor,a bad,strong, nasty and sickening odor.But I could see it being very useful to induce vomiting after accidentally ingesting some kind of toxic substance...If you've run out of ipecac,this is unquestionably the next best thing!

it's true, i think they have tampered with perfection. in the 80's, this was very hard to find, (only one store in the east 50's that i knew of that sold it, aside from getting it in france) and of course it was my signature fragrance. to this day, my old boyfriends all remember this scent. when i found out saks in ny was carrying it, i was thrilled. needless to say, they must have tampered with perfection. it definately does not smell the same, although my mom brought me an ounce of the perfume from paris a few years ago and it was on the money. i STILL crave the real thing!

I wore Climat back in the late 70s/early 80s and I couldn't get enough of the stuff. I begged my contact (who's husband worked at the duty-free shop) to get me as much of it as she could. I ran up on a bottle last year and, I must admit, I was a little disappointed -- I am sure it is not the same. Still, I would try it again.

This is the most fascinating and sexy fragrance I have ever used. It is somewhat like Rive Gauche by Yves Saint Laurent but much much better!!! Those who dont like it did not use the real thing, it is a discontinued frangrance, you can only get a "fresh" bottle from lancome institute in Paris.

Tried it and...Man,I wish I hadn't. This stuff just isn't for me. To me it smells cheap and tacky and conjures up images of tartish, wannabe women.

I wore this fragrance years ago and then found it @perfumeemporium.com. I bought big bottle since I thought I loved it so much. To my surprise I've used it a few times and now it's sitting on my shelf. Good fragrance to reawaken old memories but not good enough for new Millenium.
