My favorite After Shave and toiletry
Dad loves it!!
Used this product for many years, never found better.
I have used Aramis after shave and other products most of my adult life, and would not really consider any other brand.
I like my husband to smell nice. I was devastated when this product was no longer available in our area. All the aftershave products available to us stink. Thank you Perfume Emporium for making ARAMIS available. Now, if you would just get Victoria Secret's Romantic Mist Body Splash in stock, I would be ecstatic. I am having the same problem with my favorite fragrance that my husband had with his favorite aftershave. I cannot find a fragrance in our area that does not stink.
This is a good product at a good price and the service was excellent.
its the best aftershave in the world
i have been using this 4 over 31 years it still is the best aftershave in the world i am only 47
I got what I asked for , thank you.
this stuff is HOT I am picking upmore women with this scdent, its like a magnet!!! luv it !!
Aramis is a great cologne when it mixes with that sweet smelling spring air. Definitely a spring into summer cologne.
The first time I smelled Aramis was on a 20 yr. old guy and I fell hard for him. This was in 1980 and I was 15. I do believe it suits just about any age group.
The only two men in my life have worn Aramis and nothing else. If I want to think of my honeymoon and EVERYTHING that went on, I just take a whiff of Aramis on my husband, and we've been married for 26 years! I absolutely love it and will not buy him anything else. I've tried, but nothing else takes it's place. In my opinion, the sexiest male scent ever invented.
a strong and manly fragrance very musky and sexy that women will get attracted to but not those teeny girls
My girl really loves this stuff on me and it is a fragrance that i also like to use around four days a week i have 3 full size bottles of it like i really went for it when i discovered that it possessed a sofisticated and unique freshness and if i spray it on my arms i can receive little pleasure bursts of fragrance for hours and yes my girl also loves this on me and it is her favourite.
A timeless classic scent, brought out in 1965, I recieved a sample bottle, 2 oz., Named after the 3 muskateers, there was also a scent named Porthos and Adaras, that failed in sales in 1968 and thus where discontinued. First hand knowledge, experience and wisdom the pearls of old age.
Estee Lauder did not take over this company - It was Estee Lauder that created and marketed this fragrance from the start. It was the first men's cologne to sold in a department store back in 1967.
I've had enough of people rubbishing this cologne. Yes - it is probably IS more popular amongst the maturer age group but doesn't that tell you something? its stood the test of time. It came out in the seventies and its still one of the best selling colognes today. I'm only seventeen years of age. Its not my personal pick, and I'm not an estee lauder fan (estee lauder owns aramis) but I have respect for it as it has proven to be a timeless classic. And I agree with Savanagh, the smell is manly. A lot of mens colognes today are so femminine I think the manufacturers really want to give second thoughts wether or not to label them as a perfume and aim them at women. (Clinique happy for men comes to mind! - would never buy it)
I have worn this for over 30 years and my only regret is that Estee Lauder bought the company and took away the oil base and now it is a water based eau de toilet. Aramis is an anytime cologne. I also wear Eternity for men as a mainly summertime cologne. And I also wear Dirty English which is more of a winter cologne but really can be worn for any occasion. All this is my own personal opinion and not meant to offend or sway anyone. These are just My personal preferences and mayby someone might try something new. Steve
Smoky, leathery- a "come hither" scent to be sure. This can't be mistaken for unisex scent. I only wish I smelled it on more men!
I've only read about it, not found it. Has anyone tested/bought it? What's your review on it? Is it for day or evening wear? Do you think it appeals to a certain type of man?
Every time I smell this, it reminds me of Ted Danson in that raincoat, umbrella & briefcase ad for Aramis in 1966. Like classic Ted, the older this fragrance gets, the more distinguished it becomes.
Just bought a bottle of Excite Classic from Aldi yes Aldi. Is not that far from Aramis in its fragrance. Costs a couple of quid, (about 3 bucks) but is well worth it. Whoever reads this call in to Aldi (I dont work for them.) and try it. Post your comments here and let me know. It has to be the Classic as they sell a few different types, it comes in a sturdy dark blue box. Tell them Groucho is never wrong.
This is such a classy scent, but it is not for everyone. It has a very mature character and may not be for those in their 20's or 30's.
There's no mistaking Aramis for anything else but a real man's cologne. A true classic.
This is classic man scent! Use a very small amounts sprayed on the middle of your chest. Its not that sick sweet smell that a lot of the new colognes have and that all smells the same. That kind of bubble gum smell that would attrack Brittany Spears. Grow Up !
Personally, I liked the scent, Maybe it could have been my body chemistry, I don't know, But those around me just could not stand it. That does not mean that I dropped the ball. This just means that like everyone else, I have an opinion. It just means that other people don't like it oon me. Therefore it found its way to the trash. If two or more people tell you that you smelled like a medicine cabinet due to a cologn you wear, would you think highly of it?
Sorry! But this stuff is really unique, original and wonderful. So what if it is old! The older colognes are robust and manly, not flowery like most men's colognes today. It smells like a grown-ups cologne and it's very conservative as well as a class act.
I did wear wear this maybe three years ago. There was one time I wore this when I went out shopping. I was wearing aramis and there was one chick, (I need not call that contraption a lady) that said I really stunk and to get away from her. On a later date, I wore aramis again, just to see what the reactions would be. I remember once when I got done fueling the car, I went in and a couple of chicks asked me why I smell like medicine. On that day I was wearing aramis. I remember beacuse I immediately came home and Aramis found its way into the trash mighty fast. There you have it, I rest my case.
Ok, sometimes this stuff is a bit strong for daily wear, but one spritz after a shower is just enough. I wore this fregrance in the 90's when CK One was all the rage. Many people ased me what i was wearing and commented on liking the scent. Sometimes the tried and true scents are still the best.
They still make this stuff? Can we as a nation please progress past the 60's and the 70's? There are so many new and exiting fragrances out there! But on the other hand...I have known men who have worn this same cologne for more than 40 years. Soooooo that does say something....like wide lapel polyester suits will always be chic ?
I used to love Aramis when I was younger. Back in the day, the fine print on the back label said it was made by Estée Lauder -- then they formed the Aramis subsiary so men wouldn't be put off by the Lauder origins of the project. Like everything Lauder makes, it's loud and aggressive and offensively strong. What was I thinking? What a difference 25 or 30 years has made in my taste! Still, I've smelled way worse things that pass for perfume nowadays, so I won't completely condemn Aramis.
to be made over 40 years ago that itself says something. theie are plenty companies that have copied this sceent and may have "refined it" but the original always gets remembered. too obnoxious for me though.
If it smells too bad your too immature to appreciate good stuff. The 70's and 80's had great colognes. And to you goofy 20 somethings out there who think the 90's put out good cologne forget it! The 90's cologne is "girly" smelling, or "fruity" if you catch my drift!!! Antonia Banderas, Tommy and CK one blow chunks big time. If you like interesting colognes and want a change of pace then buy Aramis or it's brother colognes like Devin and Tuscany.
It's my dad's signature scent (he only wears it to special occasions, as it is too strong for daily wear), and I love this scent! It's extremely masculine and doesn't contain those nauseating "fresh" notes that many men's cologne seem to contain nowadays (i.e. Issey Miyake..yuck). It's dark, spicy, and all man. Since my dad wears it, I could never recommend this to a boyfriend/husband! lol
I look for a new scent for my husband as I can't seem to find Aramis anymore. But after one year of looking around I have no idea what I can replace it with. There is nothing out there so senzual, masculine and sexy as to sweep me of my feet as Aramis does when on my hubby's skin.
Wow! Brings out the predator in me, handsome !!! Wear it at your peril........makes all my clothes fall off!!!!
If anyone thinks this is for old men only, they have got another think coming. This has been the reason for more possitive comments from women than any other fragrance I have worn, and it isn't just because I look like Clark Gable.Get yourself a bottle of this stuff and see for yourself, the best investment I have ever made, you will be fighting them off with a stick. Tell them Groucho said so.
the girls dont like it .i love it for over 35 years great scent.other follow fade i dont estee lauder is great
I have a bottle for use after electric shaving but it seems to have lost it's sting. Is this still made? If so who makes it and where are they located?
this stuff is for old people +50 .. dont think about it if you are into 20-30s... awful smell...
Says nothing but HARSH to me. Has off-undernotes which don't translate to anything pleasant. Got hubby off this scent when I first met him and he now wears the better stuff - more balanced, warm and refined. I agree with Raw: I'm sure its fine for covering kittylitter smell. Outside of that, no thanks...
Mediocre then, laughable now. Make the women flock--and they'll just want to be 'friends'. Sexless and uninteresting. Perhaps in a retro tie dyed, lava lamped 1960's party, it has its place. Otherwise a wasted effort at 'refinement. I think I'm trying to tell you I'm not crazy about this one.
Has anybody tried the New aramis bermuda tonic summer cologne? tell me what u think of it
The first time I experienced this fragrance was 14 yrs ago. I married the man, and unfortunately he stopped wearing it. I feel the scent projects a strong, confident man. I like it almost as much as Obsession.
I'm not sure why I bought this to begin with. It does remind you of an older scent, not fit for twenty-somethings. It does cover the litterbox smell well, though.
I need to build real heavy muscles to use this perfume so that it could fit the personality, or else if I could not make it, I will use it when I will cross 60 years.
Do not hate on an old school classic. It is good to have a real man's scent in your cologne collection. Many colognes now are light and fruity, but this is good to have. Many colognes now last all of two hours, but this is a good scent for a real man.
"smells old,"smells like my dad,"well if your dad wears it ,he has good taste in colognes.take a lesson.never got any complaints from the ladies, young or old.
TOO OLD, STRONG, AND REMINISCENT OF PAST FLINGS FOR ME TO WEAR TO SOCIAL EVENTS. I MIGHT END UP CLEARING THE ROOM IN EVERY BAD WAY POSSIBLE. I'LL PASS ON THIS ONE.
I wore this in the 70s, and then not again until recently. A great classic masculine fragrance that easily beats most of the "modern" effeminate scents that are just too sweet.
I have to agree - Aramis is a classic. However, I did not know that women liked it. I have gotten compliments for wearing Rochas men and Zino Davidoff from woemn but never really Aramis (I only wear it to work). I will say this though... having tried a lot of colognes, i did notice that not all colognes suit everyone - they tend to react witha person's natural scent so beware (I learned this the hard way when I tried Hugo Boss - smelled like someone pissed all over me...)
I wore this when I was 16 because my dad wore it. But as I got older, i discoverd better scents, and to this day, I cant stand this cologne on me. But not only did my dad wear it, my step father and my father in law also wears it,,,what are the chances of that
Sandy I agree, this is the gold standard for sexy men's colognes. Just a touch - so you can hardly smell it - will have women leaning in to inhale and sigh!!!
I wholeheartedly agree with Sandy !! I have loved the fragrance for years... It is indeed one of my DEFINITE turn ons, as far as Men's colognes go !!!
There are some wonderful scents out there but nothing will ever beat Aramis. It's the one I judge all others by. A major turn on!
Took Joey's advice (see listings) diluted Aramis aftershave with witch hazel, but I used ratio of 3 witch hazel to 1 Aramis and found no real loss of potency, the liquid does go cloudy though, but I can live with that, think of the savings. Thanks again Joey. Five stars out of five for ingenuity.
evertime I go out for a drink women often ask what is that aftershave I'm wearing (often It's barmaids). Turns womens heads all the time. Buy some NOW.
This is probably the one my dad wears the most but its a true fact that this cologne is for older guys mainly.
This fragrance defines the term classic. This scent will be around long after the more contempoary sweet fragrances are gone. A real masculine scent.
It is to strong and sharp for me, but may be great on the right person. I think this is one that either fits perfect or not at all.
It appears that the cologne is no longer made and don't tell me EDT is better or the same - ITS NOT. It is weaker and does not last as long. Does anyone know for sure if they have stopped making the cologne?
I have used this since I was twenty. It is a classic. Those who do not like it usually aren't the people I want to impress anyway. If you want to smell like a man, use this product with confidence and pride--it's a handsome scent.
Like Charles I want to know why Aramis Cologne isn't for sale anymore. I also have heard eau de toilette isn't as strong either. How can I contact the maker of this product??
religiously in the 60's. Forget Ted Danson, I should have been the spokesman for this scent, I wore it so often. Even when I wasn't wearing it, I was sweating Aramis. All the hot guys in 1966 were wearing this one. I tried to resurrect this scent on myself recently and the reaction from the women under 30 was "You smell just like my Dad." Which is what I suppose any guy over the age of 50 should expect.
I use the EDT or a spray, add a witch hazel in another bottle and then about a 8:1 ratio of witchhazel to aramis - you get the astringent after shave of witch hazel which is good for your skin and the scent of aramis - and the bottle of Aramis will last a year . . .instead of a month or two. Yeah, I'm cheap, but there is about 80% less alcohol and therefore less burn when you use witch hazel as a 'thinner' for aramis after shave or EDT.
Let me have you. Let me have you NOW! What absolutely Knock Her Socks off stuff. She'll be all over you like white on rice! O MY GOSH!
Why isn't the cologne for sale anymore? Sales people say the EDT is stronger but, the women's salepeople say that is "inaccurate".
It's great and absolutely sexy. I like a man who wears it.
I don't like to put labels, but...yes, it's old. Some scents become classics and some don't. Try Eau Savage instead.
This is a really bad reminder what the 70's was like. This is Polo's best friend. All those tobbaco/leather scents are so 70's. Then the 90's came and we wear good stuff.
My man has been wearing Aramis for 25 years and he smells so good I can't keep my hands off of him!
I gave Aramis to my husband when we started dating 24 years ago, after growing up with assorted uncles wearing it ever since I could remember. I find it to be a very sensual, appealing scent when worn in moderation-the way the men I know wear it. I have been in places that I actually had to do a double take before I could figure out what the genlteman in question was wearing. Please remember, gentleman, PLEASE wear your Aramis in moderation, the women in your life will love you for it.
...I like it but I will always associate this with my dad, so unfortunately I would feel uncomfortable giving it to a boyfriend.
Brings back memories of when I was in high school and every junior or senior guy wore Aramis...it stunk 25 years ago and it stinks now. If a guy approached me wearing this--I'm running the other way.
This is the sexiest cologne! I heard it has pheremones in it to attract the opposite sex. It works because anytime I smell someone wearing it I always look around to see who just walked smelling so good!
I was really young when I've meet a famous actor in Italy thanks a after theather dinner. This way I've discover this fragrance. Well, since 1975 I never changed. I've try a lot of others but no one meet so well my skin. My wife like it too.

refined sexy
Still a classic - I love it but women tell me I smell like their Dad. I think the Aramis ship has sailed on...into Charlie country!
Reminds me of that god awful Dolce & Gabbana. This is one of those very overpowering tobbaco-leather-assertive business man smell. Not terrible if you use a little bit but not my up of tea. One of those colognes that so others think you smell great but don't want to put it all over your neck and arms cause you don't want to smell it.
This is an old cologne that has been around a while. You either like it, or you hate it. Personally, it didn't do anything for me.
We will soon be married thirty years, and my husband would never wear any cologne other than Aramis splash. Sometimes I would have to spend hours searching, since EDT and spray cologne popped up everywhere..but what's that compared to 30 years? The scent can be overpowering, but like all life's pleasures, it should be done in moderation.
Smells like something my father would wear. Too strong. Good in moderation, but otherwise.....
A REAL MAN'S SMELL, WOMAN GO WILD FOR ME
This scent is strong enough to wake the dead. It is one of those scents that men seem to throw all over themselves which makes it even worse. Yuck.
I received this as a B-day present from my mother. (She should have saved it for my father.) Spray this cologne on and you will instantly add another 10 years to your age. The scent is strong and overwhelming and makes you feel nauseated. It takes a lot of character to use this cologne.
Is Devin not made any longer?
Girl....You are trippin' This rocks my world!!
Aramis is an old men's cologne. It is quite "spicy" and I personally think it smells completely terrible. Mind you I am a teenager, but I worked in the fragrance dept. of a store and usually this was bought by old men. It is very strong and people need a unique nose to handle this one!
My favorite of all time. Gave it to my father, my husband, and my son. They all loved it.
WELL, HERE I COME THE MYSTERY SOLVER . . . EDT stands for Eau De Toilette... ( NOT AFTERSHAVE ) It's Fragrance !!! By the way, you're welcome !!!
This is the only product that I use. What DOES EDT STAND FOR?
I AM INTERESTED IN BUYING SOME FOR A GIFT. CAN YOU HELP ME?
This scent reminds me of my beloved late father. He wore this a lot and was a very classy guy!
I've known Steve for 14 years, and he always smells great!
Hi, I need some help. We live in New Zealand (near Australia) and are looking for some Aramis 900. Please advise me on how to go about buying it - if its available. We have a few contacts around the world, so if you could please let me know where its definitely available, it would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks Kumail
deborah, edt means eau de toilette and is basically the same thing as cologne.
what does edt mean? is it cologne or after shave?
I would like to perchase a few bottles of the colone for a gift item.
The Bon March'e, or Sears.. any big stores
My boyfreind wore this one night when he ran out of whatever it is he normally wears. Anyway, left bar early, got home verrry late! Smells wonderfull!
Aramis is a Classy, Classic cologne that makes people stop you to ask you what your wearing. Have worn it for 30 years any highly reccomend it.
Where can I find and purchase this mens fragrance
