By is a fantastic fragrance! Recommended to me by my friend Ryan on this site, I just received my sample today and I'm loving it. Sexy in the European tradition (i.e. no fruit or candy), By is a scent for a self-assured woman. This would be appreciated by people who like woody orientals such as Fendi and the original Gucci eau de parfum. After the scent has a chance to settle, I get mostly a spicy coffee/bourbon/sandalwood scent that melts into a second skin. The vanilla is very subdued and lends just a bit of smoothness. Could definitely be unisex, too, and I love that. I can't wear most D&G scents (find them too loud), but I am definitely buying a huge bottle of By.

This perfume is the best perfume i've ever smelled in my life. I'm absolutly IN LOVE with it. It doesn't smell fake or fruity, it smells natural, soft, and sexy all at the same time. And there's no wearing off, two squirts and your good for the whole night no matter where you go. It must mix with my chemistry well, I think its just perfect.

I definitely agree with you Rocki, although i enjoy a variety of fragrances i do find that men prefer the orientals and chypres rather than the flowery and candy & fruity ones, and they also seem to go for vanilla based ones like addict, cinema, and casmir, and by the way i luv this one reminds me of kingdom and men do seem to like it too!

I've never experienced this one, but from the posts, it seems that alot of you get alot of attention from this, especially from men. It's what I've said all along, men for the most part, DO NOT like flowery, fruity, candy-like fragrances. They like sexy, exotic scents. Women think that men like what they themselves like...they don't. (of course, there are always those exceptions, but they are questionable)...lol...

I got a bottle of this a few days ago and it's going back! I smell like a lumber-yard when I spray this on! I guess it smells a lot better on others my chemistry makes a fool of me with this one however!

With the image of cat-like the this fragrance is hot, sensual and mysterious. The starting notes are refreshing and sunny with clementine of Sicily and bergamot of Calabria then one enivre very quickly of Eastern notes with vanilla, coffee of Brazil and benzoin of Siam. The bottle is equipped with the dress of the leopard, one of the printed fetishes for DOLCE & GABBANA. Then you'll really love Hpnotiq Poison. I thought I noticed a strong similarity -- it really hit me instinctively -- and sure enough, it's all to do with a combination of vanilla, sandalwood, cedarwood and musk: bang on!! Also, this is definitely a fragrance, at least to my nose, with a radical change between opening notes and base notes, so if your first impression is iffy -- those coffee notes are strong and, as many posters have observed, quite masculine -- just wait about an hour. Or, proceed directly to Hpnotiq!!!

Man, oh man!! This was by far the worst fragrance I have EVER tortured my nose with. My chemistry certainly DID NOT make anything good out of this. I liked the way it smelled on the card, but as soon as it touched my skin, it turned into something very masculine, pungent and musky. Almost like black licorice and body ordor (sweat) mixed together. It is awful! I made the mistake of testing this the first time as I was out the door on my way to work and was forced to suffer through the day smelling of B.O. Of course the stuff lasted and lasted and lasted and would not even come off no matter how many times I washed! I am glad I got a sample instead of jumping in head first with a full bottle! As always, try before you buy.

when i first saw the bottle of this perfume i made sure that it was one of the "great package, too spicy smell" perfumes but as a "rochas man" lover, i found out that it's an exotic coffee smell rather that spices. i always wished that a woman perfume like rochas man existed and here it is. BUT i am not sure if it suits me or not because i havent met a 21 year old wearing this perfume yet. if i were my mother, "by" would be my signature scent.

I just recently purchase this fragrance because I was told that it was pretty similar to KL(karl lagerfeld) which I still use and in fact it was true. I also have D&G femenine and they have also something in common. I love "BY" the best.

Surprise!!! Wow... I put off trying this because the animal print bottle turned me off...but I recieved a sample of it and was pleasantly surprised! Can't wait to get my hands on a bottle of this!! It is every thing I like in a perfume.

I find that every one of their scents I gett compliments on. By I love the original scent is divine and Sicily, my husband is mad about. My grown daughters started wearing the original and both say that this is the only perfume that they have gotten compliments on. I have made sure that they have all the scents Dolce and Gabbanna. Love them all

Verrrry strange smell!!! I tried to like it but I just don't!!! Definitely not my scent!

This is a top fragrance. I wear it when i go out at night and the compliments i get for it are crazyy. It is unbelievably sexy and the perfect smell for night.

I purchased this one a few years back. It a very sexy and seductive scent. It did seem a little masculine to me too, but it is aggressively feminine. This is to me an evening scent. This will certainly draw attention to yourself ! Ya Hoo!

My initial reaction after spraying this perfume was manly. While this isn't bad, I would rather have a more feminine sweet fragrance.

I've been wearing this perfume since it first was introduced and I have yet to find one that I like better, and believe me I've sampled several. I especially love it when it dries down to the warm vanilla, sandalwood notes. If anyone feels there's something prettier and sexier out there, I want to know about it.

Can anybody tell me if By comes in a parfum, not EDT or EDP...I have looked all over and can't find any...Does anyone know if they make one? Would appreciate finding out as I am dying to try this but usually only wear perfume as I need a concentrated scent...everthing dies on me really quickly...

I tried this perfume on in the afternoon and had to go back in the evening and buy a large bottle! It smells better as it sits on the skin.

By is a great fragance, so femenine and ethereal. Is sweet and elegant. Works in romantics evening.

smells like sweet pepper perfume...good but not great

i am absolutely heartbroken...i adore By sprayed on a card,but on me,it takes on a mind of its own,and gives me,horror of horrors,the worst,mother of all migraines.chemistery sucks,sometimes...

Strong , overpowering

Give this scent a chance. It is unlike anything out there and is sooo sexy. The body milk and bath foam are fabulous as well, but hard to find. It is stated as an evening fragrance, however, I use it during the day and have nothing but compliments.... it's not too heavy for day and is so unique!

This fragrance is so warm, sexy, and very feminine. It kinda reminds me of Shalimar. Give it a try.

The top note is a cloyingly sweet attack of clementine - it's almost suffocating to me. But once you let it dry out, it changes to a nice sweet and warm scent.
